La realizzazione della base dati EDIT16 (1997) e l’accessibilità in rete (2000) sono i due momenti chiave che hanno marcato la trasformazione del Censimento nazionale delle edizioni italiane del XVI secolo da catalogo collettivo a fonte informativa e strumento di riferimento principale per la cultura italiana del XVI secolo.
