The paper’s title refers to the May 2023 issue of the Italian magazine «Limes», dedicated to the war between Russia and Ukraine, its developments, perspectives and scenarios in the global geopolitical context. Instead, the "other" Ukrainian lessons discussed here are focused on the cultural heritage under attack, the will and duty to safeguard it, the forms assumed by the renewed interest in Ukrainian art and culture in the Italian and European context. In particular, the paper highlights how in this conflict the protection and safeguarding of the heritage can take advantage of the new digital tools – not available or not applied in the event of previous conflicts – and considers the most interesting initiatives promoted by the international community in favor of Ukrainian assets at risk.
